June 2011

A quick post for the pretty Liberty-print dress from Oyakin, that I got at the Randomuseum event. Liberty’s (of London) is my favoutite shop, though once you’ve been in it for a while anything under £100 starts to look really good value. The detailed Liberty prints are very recognisable. Most of the rest I’m wearing is the same as the last post, except the HMPD bracelet was also a Randomusuem item, the hair is Analog Dog’s Ash and the babouches are by 2g.

It’s mauve for the 52 weeks of colour challenge, and I think I’m nearer to the weekly colour than I was with Mahogany (which looked close enough on the computer I usually use with SL, but not when I looked at it on another one afterwards, oh well). I do sometimes venture into purple and lilac instead of blue hair, and this is a very pretty colour, though I’m not sure why it’s called “granny”.
Lace top “Lucy” (tinted): G. Field

Chinoiserie in the lake house
I got quite excited when I saw Gogo’s Bubblegum Weekends challenge, where she asks people to wear nice colours of hair like blue, pink, green and purple. Since I always have blue hair, I must be on a permanent bubblegum weekend (or perhaps I need to switch to blond or brunette for my bubblegum experience?) I’m combining a 52 weeks of colour challenge post with a bubblegum one, hope it works.
I never found the right excuse, before, to buy this dress, but I think it is sort of mahogany colour and it certainly very beautiful, the train is so swishy. I found this Matsumoto Castle/Great Wall of China area by chance, searching for photo locations, and it is lovely.

The poses are by Teasoup.
Chinoiserie gown: Icing
Flora bracelets: Tekeli-li

Butterfly days: squirrel love
This is a really cute chair from sur+ that I got in the TOSL hunt, with a squirrel holding a strawberry perched on the corner. I think dreaming away in a corner by the sea is where I’d like to be right now!
Maxi Skirt and floral jacket: C’est la vie
Zipped floral top: Moho
Pia hair in blueberry: Truth
Stone halo necklace and belt: Eolande’s
Mayur bracelet (just seen): Alienbear Gupte
Little diva shoes: G Field

Jade, elephant
This elephant pose prop from Magnifique (99 Linden and it has 5 poses, and the elephant is just 9 or 10 prims) came just as I was lacking inspiration for how to show off the jade outfit I’d put together. I had something frothier in mind for jade, but when I rediscovered this silk top, I remembered how much I liked it. I also had to wear something more from the soon-to-go Eolande’s, these colour change jade bangles have been one of my staples.
Indian summer tunic in green: Mashooka
Vintage flower skirt in green: Couverture (think it was a group gift)
Longevity jade bangle and earrings: Eolande’s
Fossilised necklace: Dark Mouse
Candy clogs in brown: Shiny Things
Trinity hair in teal: Truth
Skin by Tuli and eyes by Miriel (no longer available)

Relaxed in jade

I was really sorry to read that Eolande is moving out of SL. I have been buying and enjoying her jewellery ever since I can remember, and this butterfly necklace (gem change) is one of my favourite pieces. Too many good people have left SL, and this makes a couple of my very favourite jewellery designers (her and Miriel) who aren’t around any more.

On a more upbeat note, I also love this denim dress, so it was my first choice for the 52 weeks of colour “denim” week: I have the maxi dress in a couple of shades of denim, and also a shorter version that I wear over leggings or a skirt. Originally it was sold as part of the “To one lounge” market, but now it’s in the Oyakin mainstore. I’m using a picture I have on my wall as a background: the butterflies come out of an emitter, they aren’t part of the painting 😉

In happy mood shop
A quick post, as I’ve felt happy in this summery outfit. The first picture was taken in the Happy Mood shop and the second set in the remodelled Cupcake sim. After I had done most of the photos I noticed a pretty top by Moho Inc, which I used as an undershirt in the last picture: it has a cute zip.
