Anarkali Kameez dress

Although Halloween is well past, I am still drawn to warm autumnal colours. The Anarkali Kameez dress was bought at the Cinema event, and the new boots (by Schadenfreude from the latest Collabor88) seemed to go particularly well (you can have the sides, tongue and toe parts plain or patterned, using a HUD). I’m holding Jennifer, my newest kittycat. I couldn’t decide which hair I liked best with this outfit, so there are pictures of both.

G Field always do fantastic Halloween gifts and this year is no exception. There is a free Halloween version of their new Mesh dress “Vivian”, including batty tights, and for only 86 Linden you can get the matching mesh boots (including creepy crawly spiders). There are also half-price offers on many items in black, purple or orange, and I bought this head wreath half price. My other regular visit is to Schadenfreude, where there is an annual free treat bucket (anyone can touch it for wearable treats) – this one looks like an eyeball. Go inside the elephant (main store) to find the bucket. Finally I visited the Monster Gatcha fair and got the green/purple ice cream and the broom (with great poses for flying and hovering, and this one emits black feathers as you fly).

Schadenfreude and G Field

I think there is something a bit Alice-in-Wonderland about this dress from Schadenfreude. It quite rightly got blogged a lot when it came out at colabor88 in muted colours, but it also now available in the usual vibrant Schadenfreude colours in her mainstore. It has a very pretty bow and lacing at the back, but I decided I wanted to do some layering, so this is partly hidden by Tres Blah Tucked Tee (which I’m wearing one size larger than the dress, as they are both mesh). I was going to blog the equally lovely cygnet shoes by Schadenfreude, but then G. Field released some new booties, the Beth wedges, and before I knew it I’d fatpacked…. I like their new rose tights as well.

This new dress from A la Folie is available in a prim/flexi version or a mesh version. This is a nice idea and each of the dresses has a different style, even though the basic design and texture is the same. This flexi version has a nice swoosh to it whereas (of course) the mesh one bends with you and has a certain amount of flow when you walk.
This isn’t my favourite Glam Affair skin except that it’s the only one I’ve ever found with blue eyebrows to match my hair! I’m wearing it a lot because of that, I hadn’t realised before how I missed having matching eyebrows….

Ruby on the edge
I thought I had some ruby slippers (like in Wizard of Oz) in my inventory (for ruby week in 52 weeks of colour), but no. If the flats that Mimikri brought out recently had been in ruby, I’d have definitely got those, but the nearest colour was pink. Then I saw these Swansong ruby flats on Sawa Gothly, and they have butterflies on, which was the clincher. However, you’ll need to look at the 2nd picture to see them. Seeking somewhere to take pictures, I remembered that Cajsa Lilliehook had used ImagiLearning, so I went there. After posing on castle battlements, I trekked up to the volcano and stood on the edge. Although my pretty shoes and feet seem to have melted, I felt no pain (and after that I fell in, and survived, but I decided it was probably time to tp out).

Tangerine dream
It’s halfway in the 52 weeks of colour challenge! Until the last colour I’d managed to post every colour in the right week. My laptop still isn’t well, but I can get good quality SL on my work computer and I’m now back at work (I do use SL for work, a bit), so this week is on time again, yay. I like tangerine, a lovely colour, and I really like this dress. It’s two years old now, but it still wears well, and I have it in every colour (blue, pink and black as well as this colour). Officially it’s “orange” but I think the dress has the deeper tone that I associate with tangerine. Tangerine made me think of Tangerine Dream which made me think 70s-ish, hence the bead curtain and retro chair.
I tried for ages to get the chain for the necklace to show up in the first picture, but I failed, you can see it in more detail in the second picture.

52 weeks of colour challenge: Blue
Obviously I had to join in this week’s colour challenge, given the name of my blog (i.e. “Blueness”, because of my hair). I was tempted to use some new Amacci hair, since I rushed over there as soon as I saw they had started doing blue (and at a bargain price). However, i thought I should feature one of my “staple” blue hair designers. My favourites are Kin, W&Y, Truth, Zero Style and Schadenfreude: I feel they put some effort into the blue hair. There are some designers whose blue hair is extremely flat in comparison with the “normal” colours. For Schadenfreude, though, blue IS a normal colour, and there is a whole range of blues.
The look actually started with an old favourite, one of my first “occasionwear” dresses. I carried through the feathery theme with the incredibly detailed boa, also from Schadenfreude. I think this lapis necklace is really beautiful and have featured it at least once before.
